Are you missing your lash extensions? Have you taken the time to think about what you can do to keep your lashes looking their best during the lock-down?
At first, I thought that it didn’t really matter. After all, who’s going to see you if you’re sitting at home? Why worry? But then we had the boom in the Zoom and WhatsApp video calls and it got me thinking: of course you want to look nice! Not every day can be a pyjama day if we all want to keep our spirits up.
Plus, isn’t this the best time to take the you-time you need? Get some rest, love your skin and body, and learn little tips and tricks to save you money. Getting your lashes looking their best, naturally, is a fantastic way to start.
It can be tempting to forget about your lashes at this time, and it is all too easy to leave things in the hands of your therapist. But whilst you are unable to get to your therapist during this corona crisis, why not take your beauty into your own hands?
Why Your Lashes?
But of all the things you could focus on right now, why should you take the time to get your lashes looking their best? Well, there are many reasons!
A good pair of lashes are like a good pair of brows: they frame your eyes. Your eyes are the windows to your soul, so anything that highlights them in all the right ways will bring out your natural beauty. Gorgeous, voluminous lashes can do just that!
Fuller lashes give you a youthful appearance, just like fuller eyebrows do. When you combine this with mascara and a nice curl, it can give your eyes a lovely lift.
Plus, doesn’t it feel great when someone notices how lovely your lashes are looking? I know it makes me smile and blush if someone notices mine! It feels extra amazing when they just look effortlessly amazing! Since you can’t see your therapist, why not take your lash care into your own hands?
The thing I love about natural lash power is that it’s a lot harder to overdo it. When it comes to lashes, just like with your brows, moderation is key, ladies! If you go too far with your lash extensions, it can leave your lid looking heavy and droopy. Extensions can only really be put on the top lashes, so you may end up with your eyes looking very top-heavy and overpowering. That goes against the youthful look we all want to capture and draws the focus away from your eyes. Not ideal!
At-Home TLC For Your Lashes
To get your lashes looking lovely, there are a few things you need to think about.
Make sure that your body is getting the nutrition it needs. If you love to cook and experiment with recipes, this time at home is a great opportunity to plan your meals and benefit from a balanced diet. When you are missing vital nutrition in your diet, it can cause both your lashes and brows to look sparse. Add foods that are rich in vitamin B-12 to help with general hair growth, as well as to improve the appearance of your skin.
It is important that you get enough vitamin D through your food and possibly supplements, as the chances are that you aren’t getting as much as you usually do. After all, we aren’t out and about as much whilst we’re on lock-down! With the sunny weather, though, try to get out into the garden for that natural vitamin D. Just make sure that you put on a good SPF!
Try to use this time to give your face a makeup break. Heavy makeup which requires rigorous removal can tear your lash hair. That can leave your lashes looking sparse and broken! If you would like your lashes to have the recovery time they need, try not to apply makeup unless necessary. Take this time to get them back to their natural glory!
Lack of sleep can have a huge impact on your lashes. I know that it can be tempting to sit around watching late-night TV right now, but make sure that you are getting at least 8 hours of sleep to let your lashes recover!
Of course, there are other factors which will affect the appearance of your lashes, such as the natural ageing process and poor maintenance of your lash extensions. For that, I recommend taking good care of the lashes you have and using a good regrowth product at night to help your lash hairs repair and keep them happy.
In fact, I recommend using a regrowth product to everyone! Use this time to give your lashes some TLC!
Why at Night?
So why should you put on your regrowth product at night? Well, it is the best time to make sure you see the full benefits! When you are asleep, your body has the chance to rest, regenerate and rejuvenate. During the night, you are less likely to touch your face. This means that the products will be less disturbed and can work their best magic.
Plus, self-care at night is great for your mental health! Take the time to wind down before bed. Then, when you wake up in the morning, you’ll feel calm and rested. You will feel and see the benefits of your skincare regime the night before. It’s a great way to help you get a healthy respect for your body and your looks. It will help you to get in a positive frame of mind and start your day as your best you.
If you have seen my live stream on 1st April 2020, you may remember that I recommended NYK 1 Lash Force Eyelash Growth Serum as one of my first. It was suggested to me by one of my good clients and it is fantastic. It is a great way to help you strip back any false enhancements that cost a lot of time and money. Instead, you can embrace your natural self!
If you know me, you know that I don’t recommend any product that don’t work or I wouldn’t use on myself. So, this product has the Nita McEvoy stamp of approval. I found that it really helped me to regrow my post-pregnancy sparse lashes. It is better than any other lash growth serum that I have used before!
Of course, you won’t see the results overnight. Make sure that you apply it every night and you will see the difference in roughly four weeks. It is really worth it, though, so make sure that you stick with it! You will see the wonders before too long.
If you are missing your lash extensions during this lock-down, this is a great natural alternative.
So take a chance this lock-down. Use your time wisely, look after yourself and start every day feeling more youthful than the last. Treat yourself and your lashes! You deserve it!
