Aqualyx is a very popular fat dissolving product on the market around the world, claiming to have sold over 2 million vials, across 40 countries.

Developed by Professor Pasquale Motolese, a renowned aesthetic surgeon and a high ranking member of the Italian Society of Aesthetic Surgery And Medicine. Manufactured by the Italian firm Marlor, Aqualyx was first brought to prominence in the Aesthetic Medical international Congress in Milan in 2004, and launched globally in 2009. Aqualyx received CE approval in 2012 and launched across the UK in the following year.

Aqualyx origin is in the deoxycholate family, liquifying fat cells efficiently to be broken down by the body and passed through our lymphatic system and excreted.

The key ingredients of Aqualyx include the following:

  • Sugar obtained from red macroalgae
  • A monosaccharide sugar
  • Chemicals acting as a buffer system
  • Deoxycholic acid
  • Water (87%)
  • Sodium chloride (0.8%)

The aqueous compound solution, with slow-release sugar reduces the biological half-life of the solution, minimising side effects of the treatment.

Aqualyx is used to treat areas like the chin, stomach, back fat, ‘bingo wings’, hips, bra lines and thighs.

Smaller areas have great visual improvement, often noticeable and visible in the 1st session. However an average of 2-3 treatments are recommended to obtain its full effects and an average of 3-5 treatments for a larger area.
