Lidocaine is a relatively safe product with little side effects for a typically healthy person. It is not suitable for:

  • People who are pregnant or breastfeeding
  • Allergies to active ingredients
  • People who have  an allergy or suffered with reactions to lidocaine in the past

Thorough medical history needs to be taken to include all medication being taken. Common side effects can include:

  • Tin or metal taste in the throat when doing treatments to the face and neck
  • Warmth to the treatment area
  • Increased erythema
  • Red blotching to the skin for 48 hours
  • Skin irritation and itching to the treatment zone for 72 hours
