It is well known that the eyes are the window to the soul. We spend a lot of time looking at people’s eyes, so it is only natural that they play a big part in attractiveness. And a great pair of eyebrows can act like the perfect frames. They can accentuate the eyes, bring out the colour and draw focus to your face in all the right places. So why don’t you give your brows the love and care they deserve?
But it’s not just a matter of plucking or pencils. There’s a lot more to a good brow than meets the eye. No pun intended. It’s all about making sure you have the right colour, shape and thickness to accentuate the face without drawing attention from those beautiful eyes of yours.
That might sound like a lot of work, but that’s what we’re here for! With our tips, you’ll have your brows bringing out your best in no time!
Finding the Perfect Shape
Brow fashions come and go, but when your eyebrow shape is right, it’s timeless.
Back in the 1920s and 30s, thin eyebrows were all the rage with some people over-plucking and penciling in a whole new shape. In the 1940s, a more natural look was preferred. With every new decade, we get a whole new style.
But those styles don’t suit every person. And who wants to look back at an old picture and think “what was I doing with my eyebrows”? That’s why it’s much more important to create a look that suits you. You’re an individual with unique brow needs!
If you have a more angular face, arched eyebrows will suit you the best. For people with soft features, it is a good idea to go for a softer eyebrow shape, as a deep arch can look too harsh and witchy.

A lot can be said about your natural brow shape, too. In fact, our most common request in the salon is to enhance the natural eyebrow shape, keeping it as full as possible, but tidy. With a threading appointment, we will strike a balance between full & tidy and help you to decide what shape works best to bring out those eyes.
The Colour That Suits You
A lot of people use eyebrow pencils that are way too dark for them. When your brows are too dark, they can leave you looking mean or angry and take away focus from your eyes. If you choose a flat colour, it can make your skin look dull.
If you have fair skin, it is best to go for a soft golden to a light brown colour. Going too dark can be heavy, unnatural or even outright scary!
But people with darker skin tones aren’t off the hook, either. For darker Asian and Afro-Caribbean skin tones, a dark brown is usually good enough. A black eyebrow pencil will look flat and harsh on the skin.

If you’re worried that your brows hairs are too light, eyebrow tinting can be a great idea. The tips of your eyebrow hairs can often become translucent, making your brows look sparse or thin. With an eyebrow tint, we colour the hair from the root to the tip. You can rest assured knowing we’ll match the colour with your skin tone to give you the best brows.
Pencil in the Perfect Brows
Even when you get the eyebrow colour right, it can be all to easy to pencil them in too thick or use too much product – especially if you’re trying to mimic current fashions. This can make your eyebrows look overpowering, causing them to dominate the other features and take attention away from your eyes.
For the best results, brush your eyebrows up before you start and don’t press too hard with the pencil. Use feather-like motions and pencil those brows in the direction of your natural hair growth. We prefer using a brow powder as its less likely that you will apply them too heavy, and gives an illusion of a fuller brow in a subtle way.

Or if you want to take the guess-work out of perfecting your brows and wake up looking fabulous every day, our Microblading treatment could be for you.
Microblading is a semi-permanent treatment, meaning you can go for a work out or have a dip in the pool without having to worry about those brows disappearing.
We match your brows to your unique face structure by measuring the width of your eye, assessing the middle part of your nasal bone and fitting your shape to your brow bone – whether it is arched, softer or flatter. This means that you can be sure your eyebrows will look perfect every day.
