Your Simple Guide to Tear Trough Filler

Tear trough filler is a minimally invasive, non-surgical route to treating hollow under eyes. Some people feel as though their eye bags make them appear older, so the filler slightly plumps the area, giving it a smoother, rejuvenated appearance.

  1. I always endeavour to make certain that my client feels are as comfortable with their chosen procedure as possible. Therefore the first step of getting your Tear Trough Filler with me is a consultation about your specific aims. I will be able to get to know what it is that you want to achieve and advise on whether this will be the right treatment for you. It is important that you understand the way this treatment works before we get started on it. We will come up with a treatment plan that we both agree on.
  2. Once we have decided upon the treatment, it is time for your appointment. The way this works is I inject small amounts of filler safely with the use of a blunt tipped cannula under the eyes. I will always use Teosyal PureSense Redensity II, the ONLY licensed filler for this treatment in the UK. I am fully qualified for this treatment, and have gone through extensive training, so you know that you will be receiving the best practice that there is on offer. The treatment will take between 25 to 30 minutes.
  3. As this treatment is minimally invasive, you will feel fine to go back to work the same day if you choose! There may be redness and swelling, maybe even bruising initially, but if you follow my aftercare tips then this will go down over the next couple of days. There will be a slight change over the next two weeks as the filler settles, so at the 14-day point you will be able to see your finished results. So don’t worry if coming out of the clinic chair the eye bag treatment doesn’t look exactly how you imagined – let the filler settle over time and it will!
  4. Aftercare tips! Don’t use makeup or anything on the skin the day of treatment. For two days, avoid alcohol, don’t exert yourself and try to sleep on your back with your head elevated. I also wouldn’t recommend extreme heat or extreme cold for two weeks while the filler is settling. But don’t worry. This is a lot of information all at once, so I will make sure we go over all of the aftercare tips you need at the appointment.
  5. I would recommend coming back to see me in 12-18 months. Everyone is different but this is generally the window in which your filler will have metabolised into your body and dissolved. If you would like long-term results, then periodic maintenance treatments can be done.
